Father Cornelius Kotterer and Son Marc - Proud owners of Adria!

Cornelis started sailing at the age of 7, he built his own "ship" of old biscuit-cans that he fixed together, planted a peddle as a mast and a hockey stick as a boom, used an old sheet as a sail and off he went "sailing".The harbour-police picked him up in the middle of the "Y",the harbour of Amsterdam, where his first voyage ended. Since then he sailed the rest of his life, always on his own keels, the European waters. In his professional life he was and is architect and painter and he graduated as master at the Enkhuizer Zeevaartschool in Holland.

Marc started sailing as an unborn first mate on his father’s sailing yacht in all kind of weather on the Dutch waters and the North Sea. As a kid he had his own little sailing-boats. He started the study of Naval Architect, but when his parents emigrated to France, to breed horses, to paint and to sail the Mediterranean he followed them, since that time father and son are working together, as horse-idiots, artists (Cornelis painter and Marc sculptor) and of-course sailors. Since the Adria became the family sailing dream they decided to sail and sail her and to give the opportunity to charter the Adria and her crew, so
